Like earlier posts I don't really want to push, but the month is rapidly coming to a close and there hasn't been a November kitbash release. Is one planned? Is everything getting pushed back to December or even later? Were there not enough submissions to make a release? Just kind of curious what's going on. |

There are some submissions pending, but they're still going through the judging process. November is usually a busy month with holiday trips and whatnot, so things moved a bit slower than usual. Odds are, the ones that pass muster will be released sometime in December. |

 Well, we don't actually have a monthly release schedule set in stone for kitbashes. It's just a guideline that I established to keep things moving so that we don't dither endlessly during the judging process, but there are a lot of practical factors to consider. There will be times when a month or two goes by without any new kitbashes for any number of entirely benign and grossly ordinary reasons, and it's not really a cause for alarm. We lucked out a few times in a row and I'd also mentioned that I hoped we could make it a monthly thing elsewhere on the forum, so I think that encouraged the perception that it's supposed to always be a regular monthly thing. |

November and December now? I understand things are busy and all... but I've got a lot piled up waiting for two things to get approval (due to format conformity, etc) and I'm hesitant to do a lot more on the chance I'm going the wrong direction. Any word on when the Kitbash submissions will be updated? |

How many times have we seen this cycle? At least 3 since I've been part of this hobby. It seems time, once again, to plead with the folks at WWG to loosen kitbashing rules. It only hurts WWGs image and sales when it's biggest fans are prevented from promoting and extending their wonderful products. I personally know for a fact that various competitive vendors have seen measurable, sometimes significant, sales increases as the result of publicly posted (and social media-promoted) kitbashes. Hampering your biggest fans is bad business. [This is no slam against the over-busy volunteers that are trying to work as best as possible with an untenable situation - We know you're trying, gang - thanks for that.] [Shutting up now. Again.] |

Gah. I keep typing volumes and rambling. This is a tough topic for me. I'll try to summarize: I think the reformatting-old-sets-for-cutfile-support thing is long overdue. I think the current kitbash scheme of letting owners of old sets just download the reformatted sets is great. There are several old sets I expect to have to make cutfiles for myself. I'd love to have a chat over IM (PMs are SO SLOW!) about the kitbash process. I've been a submitter now on a number of successful kitbashes, and I'd be happy to pitch some ideas that might streamline the process, or at least add a little more grease to the cogs. |

I think that it would be great if the WWG kitbash system had room for more casual kitbashes (e.g. a tile kitbash in one format only). . . . and . . . WWG does need to protect its IP, so restricting the kitbash to only those who have purchased the relevant set(s) makes a lot of sense. Making kitbashes available to customers who haven't purchased the relevant set(s) means either giving them away (which en-mass would undermines WWG's business) or having to charge for them which leads straight to meeting WWG's quality standards (which are a major factor in why we're WWG customers in the first place). When the WWG store was rebuilt a couple of years ago, kitbashes were included as a chargeable item with the added feature that they were now provided free to owners (on the WWG store) of the relevant set(s). Further modifications would be required to the store to provide a category of kitbashes that aren't available for sale but can be downloaded for free by set owners. This last could be worth requesting as it would open the door to the sort of kitbashes you're talking about. (Will still have to go in the queue along with all the other things WWG are working on, and will still need some quality controls, but I think it would be a great thing for the community.) TLDR: Request a new store category (and QA process) for free lesser kitbashes available only to owners of the relevant set(s). |

(And I nearly put a disclaimer in to say that this may be overkill for cutfiles  )Yeah, provided the cutfiles aren't giving away anything significant (e.g. the TLX format itself must be key WWG IP) then making them available seems sensible. I suggest you open a new thread in this (Kitbashing Zone) forum for that specific purpose and include any relevant cutfiles as .zip attachments (after all, this is part of what we have the attachment system for). Keep it positive and I'll see about getting it stickied (or prema-linked in a sticky). (If anything does turn out to be a problem we mods can always go in and edit that out - but hopefully all will be well.) TLDR: Open a new thread specifically for unofficial kitbash cutfile and include them as .zip attachments. |

As both a volunteer Mod and a someone with a substantial volunteer role in the kitbash process I will say that I am willing to have a positive and constructive PM discussion with anyone that would like to. That being said, as for a public comment on the matter I will say that the process itself is necessary, but there are some current kinks in the release line that could be alleviated and I am personally looking into them (with the help of some others). For those inquiring minds, my Steam ID is wdf.SeattleMan (likely the easiest way to communicate with most). |

I've been working my way through making cutfiles for the Citizens of Himmelveil II standees - I'll post the cutfiles here when I'm done, so if people want to bash their files to line up with the cutfiles, it'll save a lot of time. I'll also submit as a formal kitbash a re-layout of the original files in the off-chance that the powers that be want to simply freshen the release (this is a small enough test). It's still faster to re-layout all the pages and create cutfiles than it is to cut em by hand! Nicer results too! |

Denny is happy for people to post fan created cutfiles - yeah! - and there is a new for this purpose in the Kitbash Forum. Thanks for your determination to get this resolved. p.s. Have you worked out how to handle cutter registration to the printed sheet without providing a copy of the WWG page with added reg marks (which would effectively give away WWG's work)? |

Just an update: the holdup is on the staff end now, and I'd like to apologize for that. I'll be reviewing the judges' final roundup this weekend and giving a couple of them the elevated privileges necessary to help add kitbashes to the storefront for future submissions. |

I am glad to say that we are working through things and I am confident in saying that you will see releases soon. How soon and how many I am not exactly sure, but definitely soon. |
