I was just wondering if I should reinforce everything with foam core? I noticed it mentioned in instructions for platforms but not for walkways. Should I do this to add stability to my set, or will the scale be off if I try?

All I can say is build as instruction (at first) to fully understand the strengths of Cardstock + folds. I think you shouldn't have an issue at all. WWG has been doing this for year & years & years... you would think they wouldn't be selling you a dodgy system.

(It will be more than fine - trust me)

I was just confused by the use of foam core in the instructions for the platforms.

The foamcore on the platforms is mainly there to reinforce the surface which usually has a larger surface area than the other bits. Walkways and the like have folds closer together lending strength to the structure.
