Its an interesting experiment, just know that we already went there You'll run into issues when doing long runs of tiles. You need that little indent allowance so that your linX can clear the tile slots. This becomes especially important when you have a number of tiles in a row. That and you won't have texture on the sides of tiles when doing multi-level structures.
