Right why is it that most of the good glue isnt available in the UK.

That may be a sweeping statment but it what it feels like.

When i first started on the WWG stuff i spent about a day trying to find the UHU Office Pen but the one that is recomended is not availble over here, and the one UHU sell is said to not be very good.

I ended up buying a Power Pritt Gel Bottle, which has been fantastic. However my depression kicked in and i didnt do anything for a while, i started building again recently and noticed I needed to get some more after an hour of scouring the internet I find that Pritt no longer make this. You can get it in sticks but sticks ive used tend to smear and bobble (hope that makes sence) they were some nasty cheap things, but i just prefer the thin nozzle. I sometimes print at 80% for 20mm gaming so the tabs get smaller

Just been looking through the forums and there are so many suggestions for glue in the states but the UK not so much. Saw a video (sorry but cant think of the name) who recomeneded Bostik Edge Stick - No longer available.

Do we have stronger Saftey Regs in the UK, or do they just not want us crafting in any way shape or form?

Ive ended up getting some of Aileen's Tacky Glue - I just hope its as good as our American freinds say, or hey it may even be a different formula over here thats 90% water

Anyway just wanted to get that of my chest

Please add your thoughts to this - remember this isnt a which glue should i use thread there are enough of those

I found that pretty much everything can be done with gluesticks (that waxy, white stuff) instead of liquid office paper glue. It less messy, easier to use and far cheaper, too! For small tabs I use superglue. I haven't used UHU office glue for a while now, the only thing where it comes in handy is with TLX tiles, but those can also be done with normal hobby glue.

Yeah cherno ive tried the stick really didnt like the ones ive tried, but i may branch out if this Aileens isnt any good.

I use really cheap glue sticks that you can get from Poundland or any £1 / 99p shop and they work brilliantly! I've had no trouble with the card coming away from the foamcore at all. You get two large and two small in a pack.

I use the Power pritt gluesticks for large areas (OK, but you get a bit of warp), uhu twist & glue for tabs etc.

Seems OK (apart from the warping).

I've tried the scotch scrapbookers glue too (some warping) & also the double sided tape (probably hobbycraft's own, as there's one not too far from me).

Saying that, I've just built a dead man's canyon piece (the big one ) using the power pritt gel, which seemed good, apart from using it for the big folds on the supports (left "wet" areas on the paper - didn't matter as not visible! ), so I feel your pain with that not being produced anymore!

UHU Twist & Glue is what you want. It's amazing and can be found in the UK

Just remember to use as little glue as possible, especially when glueing larger areas like tiles and especially when using liquid glue
